Located in the Historic District of Mooresville, NC, Artworks on Main is a "community" dedicated to artists and collectors. Within this "state of the arts" environment is a gallery, an artist supply store, artist studios (available 24/7), art classes, seminars/workshops, pottery work area, and more.

Artworks on Main has several professional portrait artists available that specialize in serveral mediums to fulfill any of your personal portrait needs. A custom portrait makes the perfect gift. Call for more detailed information.


Artworks on Main is available for artful parties for your children and their friends. Let us provide the place and the program for your child’s special occasion. We have several fun and creative themes available to choose from. Contact us for more information.


Our 2009 summer camp registration has begun. We have several sessions available. All camps are instructed by certified art instructors and students will leave each course with a whole new appreciation for the arts and its aesthetic values, and will thirst to create more often.

Art in Hand Project
The Art in Hand project will be here for the month of June! Come see the original pieces of artworks that produced the deck of playing cards that is creating so much attention. We will host an artist reception Friday June 12, 6 to 9pm. Read more about the unique and creative project at www.artinhandcards.com

Summer Camps are filling fast!  Students will complete these camps and leave with a rich vocabulary of world symbolism,  a whole  new appreciation for the arts and its aesthetic values, and will thirst to create more often. Please call with any questions and make sure to reserve your spot early!

Classes thru the summer months (June, July, August) will be on a three session and will return to a six week rotation in the fall. Please refer to our class page and schedule for updates and be sure to contact us so that we may assist you with any questions.

Art on the Green, Davidson: April 25-26
This was  a busy weekend of art festivities! It was a successful weekend and we look forward to being a part of this event again next year.

Gordon C. James, talented oil portrait artist and Artworks on Main instructor, sold “ Cozy Soup and Burgers” before the paint was dry! Shown here is "City Rhythm" currently on sale. Visit the gallery and see other works by this local Charlotte artist. His next session of “ Painting the Portrait in Oil” begins June 2nd. This class fills quickly, so be sure to call early!

Cortney Case Frasier, fabulously creative watercolor artist, sold her prize winning “He Doesn’t Know a Thing  About Kissing”. The gallery has her newest creations on display that include some interesting collages. We hope that you can make the time to visit us soon.
