Terry Beard Sargent, a painter since childhood, is a second generation artist known for her painterly landscapes of the southeast and Europe. Terry studied art and art history in college and has mentored and studied oil painting under her mother, well known artist and art instructor Dee Beard Dean.

Raised in south Florida she now resides in Davidson, NC. Her fondest memories as an artist were painting along side her mother in the studio in their home in the Florida Keys. At age twelve, Terry was selling her original art at a gallery in Islandmorada, FL.

Over the ensuing years, Terry has learned to paint “Plein Air” - painting on location to take advantage of natural light and shadow.  She seeks out tranquil “Low Country” and regional scenes, where she captures the beautiful light and vibrant colors of nature.
